The City of San José Department of Transportation (DOT) operates, maintains, and improves San José’s 2,400 miles of streets and related infrastructure. This includes the paved street surfaces, bridges, traffic signals, streetlights, signs, crosswalks, bike lanes, pavement markings, curbs, curb ramps, sidewalks, street trees and landscaping, as well as the public sewers and storm drains located within the streets. Additionally, DOT operates the City’s public parking lots and garages, and manages on-street parking compliance, abandoned vehicle abatement, and street sweeping.
